It’s better that it has happened.

Yesterday wasn’t so good. I slipped. I don’t know what came over me but when I was cooking the dinner I accidently happened to eat TWO WHITE baps. I really don’t know why. I don’t even like or ever eat white bread. But I do think this binge had been on the cards for days. I was trying so hard to avoid it and the longer I tried to avoid it the more my mind seemed to be working toward it. I still don’t know why though. I guess I was feeling slightly fluy, I hadn’t been able to exercise for 3 days, I was lonely, bored and depressed… a lethal cocktail… afterwards I really felt satiated for the first time in three weeks, LOL. So I am hoping my body just felt like it needed it and I can now move on. At least I stopped myself at two baps. In the past that would have barely been a binge. Anyway, I have learned my lesson as I have now fluctuated up one pound!!!!

If nothing else it is a lesson that I should take my Xenical EVERYTIME because if I had then I couldn’t have had that binge.

I am going to walk to the supermarket in a little while as I can’t get to the gym until tomorrow. The supermarket is a 30 min walk each way. I want to buy some Optivia cereal as Special K is just too light for me and also pick up some cinnamon for my oats as recommended by the beautiful Betz. Check out her journal as she is fabbiola. Out of everyone I know, she has been the one who has always been there for me through my highs and lows of weightloss, over the years. No one understands me better on this level. Actually she pretty much understands me on every level.

Groovybabe is 14.9 stones today and has lost 2lbs at her last weigh in.

  1. Well done for stopping at two baps. If that had been me, I would have then raided the cupboards, and then gone to Tesco and bought the entirety of the cake aisle!

Btw - what do you do with your oats, and how do you add the cinnamon - I adore cinnamon!

  2. I must admit to having a couple of brief thoughts along those lines but I am determined not to let it get the better of me. I went 3 weeks without falling off the wagon so I am slowly getting there. And honestly it has helped to refocus my mind again so might be a blessing in disguise… not least because today my tummy and bowels had me in agony from the white bread so I won’t be doing that again in a hurry!

The oats are just put in a bowl and mixed with some soya milk and put in the mircowave for 2 mins (should use the hob really) and then when they’re done I put a teaspoon of honey and some chopped strawberries in and mix it up. It’s really good at stopping me binging in the evenings. I am just back from Tesco and have bought some ground cinnamon (only 45p!) and will mix a couple of pinches of that into the oats before I cook them. (I presume that is how you add it!)

  3. Having slipped and slided during my weight loss battle, I completely understand.

    Hang in there :)

  4. okay…so I am going to risk a possible stupid moment… what is (are) baps? I got that it is some kind of white bread but….

  5. I just put my oats in a bowl and pour water from the kettle on them, sprinkle on my cinnamon, stir in the dates (which I chop up) and the honey. Today, halfway through eating it, I realized I was full, so I only ate half what I normally do.

Definitely the baps could have increased to a dozen of them and a box of crackers and a bag of m&m’s or something.. but you showed some keen self-control. Good on you!!

  6. Rachel - Baps are like a bread roll but more flat…

Betz - You put water on the oats? It didnt even occur to me to do that! But they taste bad enough as they are, they must taste awful with water? Might try that when I hit a plateau. I did buy some ground cinnamon yesterday and that really helped them to taste much better. I put the oats and milk on the hob and heated up adding the honey and cinnamon so they melt into the oats then added chopped strawberries afterwards. The only thing I don’t like about oats is they taste sticky. They really do fill you up though.
