Topsy Turvy Day
By Groovybabe • Jul 12th, 2007 • Category: being motivated, celebrations, diet management, eating healthily, exercise, health, xenicalToday has been a bumpy ride emotionally and yet I have eaten less than normal due to being busy. But I wonder if stress is leading me to eat less rather than more now? Interesting thought, even if it is highly unlikely!
And oh God! I just bumped into an old friend who I used to have a mad crush on! I haven’t seen him for years but we were good friends at one time. I used to always get drunk and admit my dying love for him, LOL!! He was always good humoured about it but why couldn’t have happened a few months down the line when I was even slimmer! Heh.
That happened just after coming out of the doctors where I had my monthly review with the weightloss nurse (she gives me the Xenical). She was very impressed at the amount of weight I have lost. In fact she became suspicious!
“Have you been doubling up on the dose?” she enquired.
I told her no, I have done everything by the book. Diet and exercise. I am really into it. She was outright amazed at just how much I’d lost. But because she was concerned I asked her if I was losing too much. She said it is okay at this stage (249lbs) , your body can get away with it but once you get to 13 or 14 stone (180-200lbs) you’ll have to make sure it slows down to 2lb per week. I raised the point of excess skin telling her I have seen some awful stories about skin just dangling but she said because I am young (asif!) and I am exercising I have everything in my favour. The thing is though, when I was pregnant I got the most God-awful nasty looking train track stretch marks on my stomach, and even have some from getting fat, so I don’t have the most elastic of skins. I guess I just have to hope for the best and if the worst comes to the worst go under the knife.
Groovybabe is 14.9 stones today and has lost 2lbs at her last weigh in.

I have the same fear about my stomach. I had gotten so many stretch marks with my son that I joke I am a zebra. I have always figured that since I am still relatively young (29)—my stomach may go back—but then I look at the stretch marks and think how can it? I guess we will see, right?
Ugh… I have the same fear… and the same stretch marks. I had two babies and two major surgeries in two years… my stomach looks like a road map of hell! I am very consistant with putting lotion on my stomach every morning and every night… that might help?
So how much has this Xenical worked for you? How much have you lost since you started taking it?
I always run into old boyfriends.. and it never fails, I will have no make-up on and a screaming kid on my hip! LOL… thank God for my husband!!!! otherwise I would be very single right now. hehehe
Like me, Tigerlily (very single)!! LOL
I put on lotion a lot (well a lot more than I used to) too in the hope that this will help. We can only hope.
I have been taking Xenical for 5 weeks tomorrow (look out for my weigh in tomorrow morning). It doesn’t reduce my appitite at all but what it does do is stop my binging due to the side effects (you poo yourself if you over eat). Apparently it also increases the amount you lose by 50%.
Well… I’ve got stretch marks from gaining weight too. But they are scars, so they’ll fade with time, and there are oils and lotions you can get to assist in the fading process.
Heh, mine are faded but they still look like train tracks! LOL! And they are almost 12 years old so I don’t think they’ll fade anymore . I’m so having a tummy tuck when the time comes. I envision a perfect figure! LMAO!
Oh, you addressed a great concern of mine. I am really worried about excess skin… but have already come to terms with the fact that I might have to go under the knife. =/ But thats like 15 years from now, because that’s how long it feels like it will take me to lose all this weight.
