Remembering to Eat
By Groovybabe • Jul 21st, 2007 • Category: diet management, eating healthily, weightloss rulesI’ve tried many diets in the past and all of them, this one included, have one thing in common: I have found it very hard to control what I eat in the evenings. I am not sure why this is but I have a fear of hunger; if I think that I won’t have access to food then I’ll binge binge binge. So I guess if I am restricting myself in the evenings my mind tells my body that I need food - urgently!
The way I combat this is by restricting my calories earlier in the day leaving me with a generous amount to play with later on, if I so wish. This time it hasn’t been quite so bad but on the off day I have been like that I have been prepared and have the calories available. I;ll have 250 calories for breakfast, another 300 for lunch. I’ll try to go without a mid afternoon snack but if I need to I’ll have another 100 calories. That then leaves 950 calories for dinner and an evening snack, which I can more than easily do if the calories are available. It’s only when I’ve over indulged earlier in the day that I need more to eat of an evening.
I’ve been very good in the evenings lately. I’ve realised that if I have my main meal at about 7pm I can go the rest of the night without wanting to eat again and this is a huge result for me. Having just counted up my calories for yesterday I have just realised that I only had about 1000 calories all day, which is too low. It comes to something when you have to remember to eat rather than not eat.
Still, I’m not complaining.
