Going All The Way

But this weekend, I come as close to being completely sure I will go all the way, without actually going all the way.
On Friday night I went out to a club with a friend. Normally I would just not care what I consume once I have had one or two units of alcohol but Friday night was different. Since being on this diet I decided sticking to vodka and diet coke is the best option due to the amount of calories in other drinks. However, when it gets later in the evening that theroy usually goes out of the window. I had 2 vodka and diet cokes at my friends before we left and then had 2 more in the Australian theme bar and then a further 2 + 1 Sambucca in the 70’s disco. My friend kept trying to ply me with shots of god-knows what but I refused! I *refused* Tequila! I don’t think that in itself would have been too bad calories-wise, but if I’d have had that then I would have went on to drink with abandon! All these concise thoughts were going through my head after 6 vodkas!! And then I was trying to be plied with beer and alcopops but I was like , ‘no, the calories!’ LOL! At midnight I started drinking water and sobered up almost instantly.
I told my friend before we hit the town not to let me eat after the club. We used to always get a kebab to soak up the alcohol. Sometimes a kebab AND a cheeseburger! Clubbing builds up an appitite! At the end of the night, the other night, I was ravenous. I’d been dancing all night (more than I normally do) to help the weightloss along but I refused to eat as it was night time and I no longer eat at night time!! I went straight home and even though I had to sit online for a bit to wait to phone my friend, I never went and ate. I just told myself I don’t need to eat because I’ll be fast asleep in a matter of minutes, which I was.
So I know that if I can manage a night out on the tiles and not break the rules I have set for myself then I know pretty much that I can do this, go the whole way. I got quite excited by this prospect. Another friend called me a “machine” when I told her how good I was on my night out and I responded with, “I think you have to be when you have a lot of weight to lose.”
Groovybabe is 14.11 stones today and feeling in control.

it must feel sooo good, bc that means that now, finally, the “new rules” are sticking! and dang, if that ain’t half the battle!
Good for you, after three vodka diets I would have gladly gulped down a calorie laden shot or two. This post made me think of a few “drinking while dieting” stories… ah, memories.
Thanks guys, yeah every week I seem to amaze myself with what I can achieve when I put my mind to it!
