100 Days

Today marks my 100th weightloss day, how amazing is that? I didn’t write a long drawn out post yesterday because I have been feeling pretty down for a few days and couldn’t face it, but to mark 100 days on a successful weightloss programme is something. And a weightloss programme I have devised by myself and have worked on mostly on my own, well that really is something of an achievement.

In fact, I was thinking yesterday as I walked to pick my son up from school, how I have pretty much stayed on target to reach 14 stone by Christmas/New Year. Coming from someone who couldn’t reach their first 7lb milestone in the past, it truely is amazing. In order to reach 14 stone by Christmas I have to lose 32 more pounds overĀ  the next 14 weeks, which is 2.28 pounds per week. So, I am a tiny bit behind but nothing I cannot work on. And 2.28lbs per week is very do-able. And even if I do not meet it, I know that I will be very close to it and everything I will have lost by then, which will be in the era of 70lbs, will boost my confidence no end.

All the walking I have been doing recently, which amounts to 4 miles per day outside of the gym, was really hard in the beginning. It showed me just how unfit I still was, but a few weeks in now and it is becoming easier, even though my lazy alter ego resents every step still!!! And this walking is good for me. One of the main reasons I wanted to lose weight was to be able to do the Moonwalk because it looked like so much fun! For those not in the know, the Moonwalk is a charity walkathon to raise money for breast cancer. Participants have to dress up a bra and wear it outside their clothing during their night long walk. In my case it will be a walk across London as the city sleeps, in May. The London walkathon is 26 miles so it really is a good thing that I am adapting to longer walking distances! After Christmas I intend on beginning serious training at the gym for this event.

Last night I was bored and so decided to jump on the FitDay bandwagon and input my day’s food content. I know this system is far from completely accurate, one of the reasons I avoided it in the beginning, but I actually find it quite interesting to see where my calories are coming from as I haven’t assessed this yet. I’m also hoping that using it will make me more accountable to the foods I am eating. Don’t get me wrong, I am not over eating and I am eating the right types of food but in the evenings I find it hard not to eat for eating’s sake and I am hoping to curb this a bit. Check out my fitday eating habits.

Groovybabe is 14.11 stones today and has lost 6lbs at her last weigh in.

  3. 100 days. I applaud you. I can’t wait to see what Christmas brings this year. A skinny, hot, groovy babe!

  4. LOL, Rachel you are funny!!! I wish! It should bring me to half way through my journey though, with any luck! I think I will hold off on getting a new wardrobe just yet (as much as I need one) and get it in the January sales…

  5. Congrats on making the 100 days landmark. Fantastic! Really impressed. You are an inspiration!

  6. Thanks Clubcat. Still a way to go but I figure that if I have come this far there is no reason I cannot go the whole way. The most important change is that I am starting to feel “normal” again.
