Goals for This Week

By Groovybabe • Oct 21st, 2007 • Category: goals, stuggling, weightloss websites
  • Exercise - 3x workout at the gym.
  • Drinks - 2litres of water per day.
  • Food - under 1470 calories per day; log everything into WLR.
  • Diary - write in here everyday.
  • Sleep -to get my sleeing pattern back to normal.

A few guidelines for myself. I need to nip this attitude to dieting in the bud and get back on track. I can’t do half arsed attempts, it doesn’t work for me, I am very much all or nothing and I need to cash in on this trait. I need to get right back into it. Be strict with myself like I was in the early days.

I have a friend who needs to lose the same amount of weight as me (6 stones) so we are going to push each other along. I think it is what I need. I just want to see a 2lb loss per week. That is all. I miss that feeling of success.

Also, please check out another friend of mine’s weightloss journal. Some of you will have seen her around - Betzymonster. She is a fantastic person and really funny and I think you should all go check her out and add her to your blogroll. That is all.

Groovybabe is 14.11 stones today and has lost 6lbs at her last weigh in.

  1. sounds like a solid plan to me, good luck!

  2. Thanks!

  3. I love teaming up with someone. It makes me feel good being accountable to someone other than myself.

  4. Weekly goals are a great idea, I’ve got to do that too. I like you included writing here everyday in your goals, both because that means more good reading for us but also because during my bad week this week I didn’t do that myself, and I already feel a little disconnected to the weight loss part of me. Need to get it back by writing.

  5. Rachel - I tend to avoid doing it because if one or the other loses interest that means bad news for both parties but we’ll I don’t think it’ll hurt as I am already independently losing.

John - I just needed to really focus on what was important and making goals for this week helped me to do that. I read your post and yeah I agree, its too easy to get complacent when you dont blog all the time. Writing the blog has a valuable role in weightloss, for both of us I suspect.

  6. WOW! I’m so much like you, all or nothing. I also avoid teaming up with one person because I tend to internalize their failures and let them bring me down. I find that if I team up with LOTS of people. someone has to be up and I let the good carry me and try to support the challenged along the way. Have you seen the Tales from The Scales challenge? You report your weight once a week and I’m finding it to be a great motivator and support system.

I’ve made a commitment to use my blog as one of the many tools in my weight loss arsenal. I’m glad to see you are doing the same thing, I really enjoy reading your posts!

  7. Thanks Diana! I was doing a weightloss challenge with the buddha guy but he seems to have given up on it, which is a shame. I was thinking of starting one myself I might check out tales from the scales.

  8. Thanks for the mention! I haven’t been posting this weekend, or reading for that matter, since I’ve been super relaxing all weekend. :) Love the 3 day weekend.

Going to the gym tomorrow. wahoo!

Now that you’re running, you should count how far you go on the treadmill and the xtrainer and measure how long it takes you to run to Oz! :) Maybe I should too (though I’ll have to aim for somewhere further away than Oz….maybe home?).

  9. Sounds like a fantastic weekend, most idyllic!

Yay! I am just back from the gym. It was my first session for 10 days. I am not over the flu yet (that was apparent after my workout) but I thought it important enough to get back in there. I’m glad I did.

I ran and walked (more running than walking now) for 2 kilometers today on the treadmill. I did 3.5kms on the crosstrainer and 5.5kms on the bikes!

I saw flights to Oz for £599 in the travel agent window today and thought about next year when I come down as a skinny.
