Bits

Actually I woke up this morning and the pain in my bum/leg was pretty much almost gone. So from the school I ended up walking to the gym (I resent paying for buses!) and I was still fine when I got to the gym so I thought, ‘go for it’. I spent extra time and effort on my stretching though and took some time to use the toning tables (something I haven’t done for ages).
So I did!
My fitness levels have improved. On the XT my heart rate only went up to 131 max (mind you, I was only really in the 8-9 range) and after jogging my heart rate was 148 (it was 156 on Monday). I’m jogging for 10 minutes of the 25 on the treadmill now but I am going to up that next week. I’m glad I have my review on Sunday as I need to jig things up.
Before I went to the gym I went and bought some joggers in the next size down (18) and there was plenty of room!! I totally could have fitted into a 16 I reckon!
I am really back on track now with food. As long as I am good with my calories and pace them out appropriately over the day then all is good. All cravings for junk is gone now those biscuits are out of my system. I can’t believe how different I feel without rubbish in my system!
All the weight I put on last week (5lbs) is off now. So hopefully I will see a pound difference by Friday!
I was watching The Diet Doctors on the weekend and they gave a recipe for a natural pudding for people with a sweet tooth.
Peach Rice Pudding
- 30g Basmati Brown Rice
- 100ml Goats milk (I used soya)
- Half a peach chopped up
- Cinnamon
Get a small bowl and put 30g basmati brown rice (dry) in it. Top with the chopped peach. Pour the milk over, add cinnamon and bake in the oven for an hour or so.
It’s a really simple recipe and works. I found the rice a bit too crispy so I dont think I cooked it long enough but it tasted good enough. Definitely worth a try!
Groovybabe is 14.11 stones today and feeling in control.

I’m glad you’re feeling better. The vibration from the toningtables probably helped your muscle pain too!
Maybe on that rice thing you should cook the rice a little first to get it going. Brown rice is stubborn and takes ages to cook. I try making this. I can’t stand soy milk (or goat’s milk), so I might just use regular trim milk instead.
I remember during the summer when I was riding bikes daily and I thought about it all day and felt that I wanted to go and couldn’t wait for evening.. It was not a thing I had to make myself do. I think exercise is very addictive. I wish that I could find some cold weather exercise I would like. I can’t afford a gym…
B - Thanks. Everyone says that about toning tables but these dont have any vibrations! I went on the ones that move your legs up and down. Its like laying down while I walk LOL I think it helped because it stretched the thigh muscles. I also went on the abductors, which work the glutes.
Yeah I might try and cook the rice first, that should help. Let me know what you think of it if you do make it.
R - What about dvd’s indoors? Taebo is a fantastic all over workout for all abilities. I love that as a workout.
You rebel you! I’m glad you’re feeling better though. I tend to make a stove top rice pudding with my leftover brown rice (though that’s cheating a little). Yours sounds really nice though, what temperature did you put the oven at?
I was expecting that you will be feeling better sooner than later. The same happened to me about 2 weeks ago, I somehow woke up with severe pain at the side of my back and I could not bend even a little bit or walk properly. Three days of rest and 2 strong medications from the doctor and I was well again, and back to the gym.
I believe the fast recovery is due to a fitter body.
Congrats and keep it up!
