Manic Weekend

By Groovybabe • Nov 19th, 2007 • Category: being motivated, celebrations, clubbing, life, self esteem

Wow, what a manic weekend! It was *the* best weekend I have had in a long long time!

Saturday saw me going into town to buy an outfit, then a big workout, then more shopping, then home and getting ready to go out, then dancing, then a long walk eventually getting back to my friends house at 6am! Then on Sunday I had to walk half an hour to get home!

Saturday I must have had over 1200 calories in food and I am not even going to estimate how many in alcohol!! I remember drinking diet Bacardi Breezers, Vodka and diet coke, white and rosé wine, some kind of bright green cocktail in a JUG, lol hehe so yeah well and truely over my calorie limit in all likelihood. Plus afterwards I stole a few of my friends cheese covered fries, LOL!

But something happened over night because when I weighed in the next afternoon, I’d gone down from 15.4 to 15.0! I was absolutely amazed! I had already eaten and needed a number two at this point as well so I was more than chuffed. I thought it might be due to dehydration from drinking but I weighed in today as well and it is all good!

I can see where those pounds have gone. My stomach is so much flatter, for one thing.

On Saturday I bought some clothes. A sparkly black going out top with puffy arms, some plain black going out trousers, a pair of gym bottoms and a plain grey tshirt. I bought the puffy arms top and black trousers in an 18 (UK remember) because I was going out and didn’t want to risk them not fitting (I never try on in the shop!). They fitted perfectly, were a little lose, but they looked great! Black always helps (I haven’t worn that colour for ages) too! In the mirror I was thinking wow, I’m so much more slender than I used to be! Possibly for the first time in ages. I bought them gym bottoms in an 18 and the grey tee in a 16. I am still not quite a 16 yet but fast slimming out of an 18. I think another stone (14lbs) and I will be able to take the possibility of a 16 seriously. I’vealso gone from a 42DD (on a good day) to a 38C.

Lately I have come to realise that the body I see when I look in the mirror is not the body that everyone else is looking at. I guess the problem is, in my head I still weigh 19stone. I need therapy lol. But even when I see the scales and KNOW how much I have lost, I  still think 15 stone is massive. Then I look in the mirror and all I concentrate on his how far I still have to go, not the massive changes to my body so far.  This is slowly starting to change with all the positive reinforcement I am getting through compliments. They come in thick and fast.

My sister came around the other day and was pinching my legs going, ‘look at your little pins’, lol. She took some pictures on her camera phone to show my London family this weekend and I’ve just got feedback from them. My cousin told me I look fantastic. My aunt said when they saw the pictures all my aunt could hear from my cousin was OMG OMG OMG! LOL. Funny, I thought I looked really fat in those pictures!!!

And of course, I received plenty of male attention on Saturday night, which did no end of benefit to my self esteem issues.

I am feeling so much more confident this week, both in my body and in my weightloss journey. Losing those 4lbs has really re-inspired me! I am absolutely certain this week will see me in the 14 stone era.

I weigh 15.0, 210lbs or 95.5kg!

Groovybabe is 14.11 stones today and feeling in control.

16 UK or Aussie? I think there is a size difference between the two…

    Thanks!

Thank you, that means a lot!

  5. The ‘net tells me there is no difference between UK & AU dress sizes.

  6. Glad you were able to get out and have some fun and YAY on the smaller sizes!!

Ah okay. I always get messed up with Aussie sizes. I knew it was either their dress size or shoe size that was different. Now I think of it, it is the latter. That makes things easier. Although saying that, we’re doing away with dress sizes soon and going with the european labels (bah I may never be a 10!)
