‘When I was small and five
I found a pencil sharpener alive!
He lay in lonely grasses
Looking for work.
I bought a pencil for him.
He ate and ate until all that was
Left was a pile of wood dust.
It was the happiest pencil sharpener
I ever had’

Feeling

By Groovybabe • Aug 8th, 2008 • Category: all, being motivated, exercise, food, self esteem, stuggling, water

Tomorrow is another day… well today is that other day. I have not long woken up and I am determined to:
- eat well
- get some exercise
- log my food
- weigh myself
- drink 2 litres of water
I have enough of having no energy from eating rubbish, feeling rubbish from eating rubbish, skin looking awful, feeling [...]

Wall*e

By Groovybabe • Aug 8th, 2008 • Category: all, clubbing, dating, diet management, self esteem, weightgain

I am not sure what happened, again. It all started when I got ill… again. I went a couple of weeks being ill with a flu-like thing during the week, getting better saturday, going out, recovering on Monday and falling ill again on Tuesday. So, I decided to have a month off from alcohol [...]

Travel Bug

By Groovybabe • Aug 1st, 2008 • Category: all, life, weighing in

Well, here I am again… managed to get my site back. I did make a couple of posts over at groovybabe/wordpress but I have been really ill all week so the last thing I have been thinking about is weightloss. Saying that I weighed in at 14.11 this morning so it is not all [...]

Full of Cold

By Groovybabe • Jul 24th, 2008 • Category: all, being motivated, diet management, eating healthily, food, hunger

I had a good day yesterday with food. I managed to find a way around night time eating. I ate around 1000 calories during the day so that I had another 400 to play with during the night. Obviously, night time eating is not ideal but at the end of the day what matters [...]

I’m Going On A Cruise

I have a new incentive to lose weight. My friend has just won an overnight stay on a cruise ship and she has asked me to go with her! We sail from Southampton to Brugge (Belguim) overnight, stay in Brugge for the day and then head back. It is in September. I cannot wait. Everything [...]

Meet You In The Kitchen At 3am?

By Groovybabe • Jul 18th, 2008 • Category: all, being motivated, diet, diet management, eating healthily, exercise, food, gym, health

A couple of months ago I talked about my night time eating. It was a problem then and it is still a problem now. This is intensified by the fact that I suffer from insomnia. But I tend to wake up in the night and half-consciously go and eat, go back to bed, wake [...]

Freedom

By Groovybabe • Jul 17th, 2008 • Category: all, article, mental health, self esteem

I have just read a fascinating article in Lighter Life magazine about freedom. It basically suggests that we all need freedom to thrive but it is what we do with that freedom that determines the success of us as individuals.
With freedom comes choices and limitations, which translates as respnsibility and it is how we [...]

Good Days

By Groovybabe • Jul 16th, 2008 • Category: all, being motivated, gym, mental health, self esteem

I have been thinking about going to the gym for ages; for the last seven weeks that I haven’t been there, in fact. There have been a variety of reasons. First off I stopped going because I was suffering from suspected anaemia, where I literally had no energy at all. Then when I got [...]

You Lazy Mare

By Groovybabe • Jul 16th, 2008 • Category: all, being motivated, diet management, eating healthily, exercise, self esteem

I was getting back on track yesterday but then I made the mistake of going to the shop before dinner… I only had a twix and some rainbow drops but it set the precedent for the rest of the evening and it ended in distaster. I figured today was a new day.
This morning I [...]
