I’m Going On A Cruise

I have a new incentive to lose weight. My friend has just won an overnight stay on a cruise ship and she has asked me to go with her! We sail from Southampton to Brugge (Belguim) overnight, stay in Brugge for the day and then head back. It is in September. I cannot wait. Everything [...]

Yo-Yo

By Groovybabe • Apr 23rd, 2008 • Category: being motivated, diet management, eating healthily, exercise, food, health, mental health, water, weightloss, weightloss websites

I am in such a fowl mood today, and lately actually, I don’t know what is wrong with me. I am fast losing what I consider myself to have, a laid-back nature. I feel like a yo-yo; one minute down, then up, then down… I guess I will get over it.
I have not let [...]

Weightloss Is A Good Thing

By Groovybabe • Apr 17th, 2008 • Category: food, health, weightloss rules, weightloss websites

I think I mentioned a few days ago that I was doing WLR again. I have tried other programmes including fitday, sparkpeople, mynetdiarty, weightwatchers etc but WLR is by far the best. It has a simple interface and most importantly has a database of English foods. It is not the most extensive programme but [...]

Keep Plodding On

I didn’t manage to stay away from the kitchen in the night, but I did try. The fact that the first two times I made myself get a drink only tells me this is a conscious thing. The third time I woke up I had some of my natural greek yogurt with honey (not [...]

More Successful

I ate really badly last night throughout the night but when I woke up this morning I felt nauseous, I had the pre-sick water thing in my mouth, so I didn’t eat a thing until 2pm. I have just logged up my calories on this fantastic new site: www.mynetdiary.com and it has come up [...]

Sleepful Eating

By Groovybabe • Apr 8th, 2008 • Category: diet management, goals, weightloss websites

I did well yesterday. I had 1446 calories by the time I went to bed, and with 90 mins walking and a weights session under my belt I thought I was doing quite well. I was asleep two hours, woke up half asleep and made myself a cheese sandwich. At about 4am I sleepily [...]

Chasing Pavements

By Groovybabe • Apr 7th, 2008 • Category: being motivated, diet management, exercise, self esteem, water, weightloss websites

Today is Monday and I feel more motivated than I have in a long long time. I think this has come from seeing myself in the mirror when I was getting ready to go out on Saturday evening and feeling so rubbish about my 9lb weight gain. It is really showing on my waistline. [...]

I Need It

By Groovybabe • Nov 1st, 2007 • Category: diet management, gym, stuggling, weightloss websites

I want to give a huge shoutout to John is Fit who has dedicated a post to lil big old me. He is pretty cool too. Our dedications have been quoted as being similar by others so it is always interesting to have a read of his blog. You should all check him out.
Another [...]

Weightloss Websites

By Groovybabe • Oct 28th, 2007 • Category: weightloss websites

I made a deal with myself to blog every day but I am running thin on things to talk about today (mainly due to the diet going well - yay) so I thought I would focus on websites that help me. Maybe they’ll help you too?
www.weightlossresources.co.uk - this is a diet and exercise database [...]

Goals for This Week

By Groovybabe • Oct 21st, 2007 • Category: goals, stuggling, weightloss websites

Exercise - 3x workout at the gym.
Drinks - 2litres of water per day.
Food - under 1470 calories per day; log everything into WLR.
Diary - write in here everyday.
Sleep -to get my sleeing pattern back to normal.

A few guidelines for myself. I need to nip this attitude to dieting in the bud and get back on [...]
